PEFC Certification 

End 2009, entities of the VICARD Group, namely Vicard Tonnelleries, Merrains de Cognac, Merrains de France and Merrains du Périgord received PEFC certification.

The main objective is to contribute to the sustainable management of forests by concrete actions surrounded by international rules.
 The PEFC program integrates with the philosophy of VICARD which always acts as an eco-responsible company and attaches itself to the compliance with wood, especially with its revaluation system for the totality of wood falls generated by the manufacture of quality barrels. In addition this recognized commitment allows to clearly display the rigorous work carried out for many years on the origin of the wood, the mastery of purchases and traceability.

Since 2009, VICARD Group controls the entire of its supplies thanks to its three sawmills providing an auto-supplying of more than 90 % and thanks to a supplier working exclusively for Vicard Cooperage for more than 10 years.
 
Engagement in sustainable development is a necessity for VICARD Cooperage which needs to be an engine because of its reference status in the world of the Cooperage.

HACCP
In order to adapt to the new regulatory and food-safety requirements, Vicard is currently committed to setting up a HACCP procedure.
